There were a few scenarios envisaged when Paul and I were discussing removal of tiles. From the test area removed from the bath panel, the tiles were pretty well glued on to a panel of plywood. The hope was that tiles on the main walls, which are made of plasterboard, would be affixed slight less well that their bath panel cousins. However, the worst case scenario has come to being. The are fixed to the plasterboard more strongly than the plasterboard is fixed to the wall. Thus, removal of tiles per se is impossible, and first to give is the plasterboard itself. So far, the bath panel and end of bath area have been stripped of tile & plasterboard, with three trips to the local tip (below), which thankfully isn't too far away.
